Tables and sound/music
Welcome to 2014!
Click here for a Toronto New Year’s Eve event – fireworks and shouting, noise and celebration!
Many of us spent a lot of time over the past few weeks sitting at tables – eating, talking, playing, arguing, laughing, singing. So I thought it would be appropriate to start the new year off with a blog about some musicians who ‘play’ tables. Yes, tables.
Karbido is Polish for “free choice”. And this is the name of a group of musicians who, like others covered by recent postings on this blog, are creating music with machines, technologies, or, in their case, a table.
Here you can read some more about the group and its recent performances at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Next Wave Festival.
And here is a short promo video intro to ‘The Table’.
And, one last video link, this time with the Table, spoons, glasses, a candle and ….
And here is a link to the group’s website, but you will need to be able to read Polish to read it.
Again, welcome to (or back to) the Noise Curmudgeon (where you learn about noise AND about sound.)
